Thank you for choosing Tauro Photography!
Now that you have scheduled your portrait session, what are the next steps? This welcome section will guide you through the process and answer your questions, all in one place!
Please scroll through each of the sections prior to your session (steps 1 and 2 are required before you session is officially confirmed, so be sure to complete those right away).
If you still have ANY questions at all that have not been answered, I welcome you to ask away! I am here to help you make this an amazing photography experience!
1. Read and sign the portrait agreement
First things first! We’ve talked about a date and I have tentatively reserved a date for you on my calendar, but your session is not set in stone until you review the portrait agreement, sign it, and your session fee has been received (step 2).
2. Session Fee
After you have signed the Client Terms and Policies form, stop by the session fee payment link below to pay your fee. After we receive the session fee, your session is OFFICIALLY reserved! Woo hoo! Session fees must be received within 7 days of booking your session date. If the session fee is not received within 7 days, your tentative date is no longer held, and is released without notice.
The session fee includes:
3. Let’s get to know you – fill out the client info survey
This survey helps me to prepare for your session, and get to know a bit about you and your personal style. It’s also helpful to understand which products you are interested in from the session and allows me to customize the session to fit your specific needs.
4. What should I wear for the photo session? What about hair and makeup?
Clothing is a very important part of planning the look of your photos. When clothing is well chosen, it will allow the subject to shine through in the images. But poorly planned clothing can become a distraction in the image.
What you wear for your session should be in line with your personal style, keeping a few guidelines in mind that will make the final product work artistically. When coordinating a larger group of people, clothing becomes a very key part of your communication with them and myself during the planning stage. This is probably the hardest part of preparing for a session for a group (other than finding the date that everyone is available).
Having your hair, make up and general grooming professionally done is always recommended. These details will only add to the high quality of your finished photographs.
5. Where will our session be held?
Sessions can be held in any number of places, depending on your needs, style and the people in our portrait session. We will discuss the best location for your specific portrait session plan during the planning stage.
I have a small studio space which can accommodate 1-2 people, as well as having access to a larger studio space as needed for larger groups. For very large groups, we will need to make careful arrangements for a location that will work for the group.
There are many lovely and accessible locations throughout Waterloo region for outdoor photo sessions.
And of course, we can hold the session in your home, yard or somewhere else that is special to you.
6. What products will I have to choose from?
Everyone has their own preference for how to display and enjoy photography. Therefore we offer several product options to ensure we have something that everyone will love:
7. What about digital files?
Everyone enjoys sharing their photographs on social media and making some prints to share with their extended family members. It is part of the fun of having photos created! Every image you purchase as a photographic print or canvas will include a complimentary digital file of the same image. For example if you order 10 prints, you will receive the same images as your prints or canvas in a full resolution digital file format with no watermark and full printing rights. These are the same files that were printed so they will be retouched as well.
Please note that Tauro Photography is a product based service – it is my belief that photographs need to be printed beautifully, to the highest standards with a focus on creating archival, legacy photographs, not just shared momentarily on social media (as fun as that is). I want you to have the very best of both worlds.
8. How do I order photographs?
About 2 weeks after your session, we will meet again at the studio to see your images! This is the BEST part! We will review the images on a large screen and you can see all of the beautiful details up close. This meeting with take about an hour (maybe less if you are a quick decider!)
Then we will go through the images, together, selecting your favourites and we will then build your order from the photos you love the most. There is no minimum order – you only purchase what you LOVE!
9. What if I can’t decide what I want at the ordering meeting?
I understand that it can be challenging to decide which images to take home with you – there will be so many that you love and how will you choose?
I will be there to help guide you in the process – but don’t worry, it won’t be salesy. I am the least salesy person you will meet! I just want to help you get the best selection of photos that you will cherish for a lifetime. During the planning stage, we will have discussed some of the places you are hoping to display your photos and these conversations will help guide us to making the best selections for you at this meeting.
Because we will be finalizing your purchase during this meeting, it is important that all the decision makers are able to attend this meeting. And if they can’t be there, we can bring them in on a Skype call.
10. How long do I have to order my photographs?
You will be placing your order at our viewing meeting. But should you wish to add on additional products after that time, quoted rates are guaranteed for 60 days after the date your session, after which the most current rates will be applied to any future orders.
The purchased images from your session will be archived for up to one year.
Once your products have been received at the studio, you will come to the studio to view and take home your new portraits.
11. When will I get my photographs?
Standard prints take about 3 weeks. Custom items can take longer (up to 8 weeks for albums/folio boxes, which are completely custom made for you when we order). Digital files are delivered at the same time as your products.
Orders that contain any combination of these products will be available when the last items are produced. ALL orders, regardless of the size, are fulfilled after full payment is received. Prices are subject to change after 60 days from your session so it is best to finalize payment at the ordering session. You can make the payment with Mastercard, Visa, e-transfer or paypal. Cash and cheques are also accepted.
12. What if I don’t like my photographs?
I stand by the quality of my work. If you are not satisfied with the technical quality rendered during the photo shoot, please call me within 15 days of the viewing meeting to discuss the possibility of a reshoot. I do not offer reshoots for dislike of clothing or hair/makeup choices, but usually this isn’t an issue as we have carefully planned the style of your photographs before the session occurs.
I ensure the products that I offer are of the highest quality and all products are inspected before they leave the studio. Should there be an issue with your products, please call me within 30 days to discuss your concerns. Damage to your items after they leave the studio are not subject to returns or re-prints.
